Project London 2012 riders to compete in the Pan American Championship

Portland, Oregon – February 22, 2012: USA Cycling has selected Project London 2012 riders Michael Blatchford, Kevin Mansker and Jimmy Watkins to represent the United States at the Pan American Championships, held March 5th – 16th in Mar Del Plata, Argentina.
Blatchford and Mansker just finished competiting in World Cup #4 in London earlier this week where they took 12th with the help of fellow countryman Giddeon Massie. The 12th place finish helped the team gain a few more Olympic qualifying points for the United States, with two events left in the calendar: the Pan Am Championships and World Championships.
Blatchford, Mansker and Watkins will be lighting up the track in Argentina with the team sprint, the keirin, the sprints and the kilo.
Blatchford, Mansker and Watkins have all participated in prior World Cup competition this season as part of the USA Cycling National Team. Project London 2012 riders have competed in a wide range of international events including the Pan-American Championships, Pan-American Games, UCI World Cups and the UCI World Championships.
