Tour of Utah to Announce 2012 Host Cities on February 1

Salt Lake City, Utah - Organizers will introduce the communities that will serve as host venues for the six-day, professional cycling event scheduled for August 7-12, 2012. Event organizers will reveal the overall race route with representatives on hand from each community.
Who: Representatives from Utah Cycling Partnership for the Tour of Utah, Medalist Sports and local community leaders
What: Announcement of the 2012 host cities and venues for the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah professional cycling stage race
When: Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Where: EnergySolutions Arena, prior to Utah Jazz home game vs. Los Angeles Clippers, tipoff 8:30 p.m.

Event Info: Deemed "America's Toughest Stage Race," the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, is a six-day, professional cycling race along the Rocky Mountain's Wasatch Range. It traditionally covers more than 400 total miles of racing through some of Utah's most beautiful and challenging terrain. Now in its eighth year, the 2012 Tour of Utah will take place August 7-12 as a UCI 2.1 sanctioned road race for the best pro cyclists in the world. Last year five teams which competed at the Tour de France were part of the 16 teams in the field of competition. Levi Leipheimer of Team RadioShack was crowned the Tour of Utah Champion for a second year. The event is owned and operated by the Utah Cycling Partnership.
