Bushnell Eccentric Bottom Bracket Receives U.S. Patent
Long accepted as a favored design in the custom tandem industry, the Bushnell Eccentric moves into patented territory.

Bikebiz III, the parent company that owns Bushnell Cycles announced today that the U.S. Patent office issued Patent No. 8,070,633 to the Bushnell eccentric bottom bracket design. The patent was issued on Dec. 6th, 2011. Bikebiz III has another patent in the works for their tandem specific brake design. That patent is due to be issued within weeks of this release.
The Bushnell eccentric has become a favorite with custom tandem builders over the years. Recently it has become a recommended item for use in Rohloff equipped bicycles and tandems. It's ideal for use in any bicycle equipped with an internally geared hub, single speed bicycle, or any bike that needs easy chain adjustment. The eccentrics are completely manufactured and assembled in Seattle, Washington at the Rodriguez factory. The design became popular because if offers a lighter weight, more versatile product than other eccentrics on the market.
Bikebiz III says that the long history of the product, along with its U.S. made quality overseen by Dennis Bushnell himself, makes this product the best in its class.
In recent years, Bikebiz III has established distributors for the product not only in U.S., but Denmark and England and has large accounts in Taiwan.
