Repair of Reclaimed Water Line Along Sammamish Trail in King County
November 7, 2011
Beginning Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, contractors working for King County will be making necessary repairs to a reclaimed water line located along the Sammamish Trail in the City of Woodinville. The repairs will be to fix damage done to a broken flange, which on Oct.19 caused an overflow of highly treated wastewater into the nearby Sammamish River and damaged a manhole structure.
The repairs will include:
- Installation of silt fencing around the work area;
- Repairs to a valve enclosure at the manhole;
- Placing backfill material to repair the bank, and;
- Installation of native landscaping to replace lost or damages plants.
The county expects the work will take one to two weeks to complete. It is not anticipated that the trail will need to be closed for this work, however, flaggers will be present and will need to stop people along the trail from time to time to allow trucks to bring in backfill material. We ask that people use caution when going past the work area.
