San Francisco, Calif. (September 27, 2011) – Chrome, the world’s leading manufacturer of bike messenger bags, footwear and urban cycling apparel, today launches their brand new City Series, kicking it off London style. Chrome’s City Series uses fan favorites, the Heritage Citizen buckle messenger bag and Assault Yalta backpack, to reinterpret the unique materials and graphic treatments that define the culture and lifestyle of each city.
London Series Citizen and Yalta are recreated replacing the traditional Chrome Cordura for a double-coated technical herringbone tweed outer shell and nubuck leather panel. Victorian-inspired print by Brooklyn-based Flavor Paper lines the interiors, capturing a taste of all things punk, ale, bikes, royalty and tweed.
“We’re very excited to launch our City Series,” says Chrome director of marketing, Matt Sharkey. “And it makes plenty of sense to do it with our friends in London who share a similar interest in all things irreverent. Flavor Paper’s attention to quality and detail matches that of the Chrome brand, so they were the perfect partner to bring it all together.”
Like all Chrome Citizens, special features include: Iconic quick release buckle with integrated bottle opener; laptop sleeve compatibility (sleeve sold separately); daisy chain mounting loops for attaching carabineer clips or bike lights; industrial strength Velcro accessory mounting strap; reflective straps for night visibility; and EVA foam padded shoulder strap with cross-chest load stabilizer for increased rideability. MSRP: $160.
Like all Chrome Yaltas, special features include: Weatherproof rolltop main compartment with adjustable stainless steel closure accommodates a range of load sizes; floating bucket liner for added wetness protection; daisy chain mounting loops for attaching carabiner clips or bike lights; industrial strength Velcro accessory mounting straps; ergonomic shoulder strap design with EVA foam back panel for improved fit and breathability; sternum strap for load distribution; industrial metal cam lock underarm compression buckles; zippered external front org pocket; and integrated side-access laptop stowage (laptop sleeve recommended). MSRP: $140.
