BiKETOBERFEST Coming to Portland

Portland, Ore. – Hopworks Urban Brewery is hosting the world's only bike-in Oktoberfest to celebrate an incredible summer of riding bikes in Portland. BiKETOBEERFEST, on August 28 from noon to 10 p.m., is a day of relaxing the way only Oregonians know how: by riding bikes and drinking delicious handcrafted beer.
A benefit for the Bicycle Transportation Alliance and Portland Sunday Parkways, BiKETOBEEREST is a full day of bicycle amazement accompanied by the very best beer at Hopworks Urban Brewery, the only brewery to serve their beer directly out of a bike. Hopworks is opening up their gigantic rear parking lot for a bikes-only extravaganza filled with great food, fun for all ages and plenty of velo merriment.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Five live bands performing on keg-supported stage
- 15 Hopworks beers on tap
- Goldsprints Roller Races hosted by Team Beer racing team
- Handbuilt Bike Showcase
- Huffy Toss
- Flatlanders (BMX trick riders)
- 9,000 people expected (3,500 in 2009)
BIKE SAFETY
- BiKETOBEERFEST is car-free. Ample unattended bike parking is provided until 10 p.m.
- Bikers coming to and from the event are encouraged to bring a helmet, lock and lights.
