Portland Traffic Advisory: Bridge Closure in Hillsdale

The Portland Bureau of Transportation will be closing the eastbound SW Capitol Highway bridge to SW Barbur Boulevard in Hillsdale to all traffic on Saturday, August 21, from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m. The bridge closure will allow maintenance crews to repair expansion joints on the bridge.
During the closure, eastbound lanes from Capitol Highway to SW Barbur will be closed to all traffic at SW Terwilliger Boulevard. This includes bicycles and pedestrians. The westbound lanes from SW Barbur to SW Capitol Highway will remain open.
Two detours will be in effect during the closure. Eastbound traffic from SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway will be detoured onto SW Bertha Boulevard toward SW Barbur. Eastbound traffic on SW Capitol highway in Hillsdale will be detoured onto SW Terwilliger toward SW Barbur. Traffic signals in the area will be altered to accommodate the detours.
The traveling public should expect delays and use caution in work zones. They should also note that this location is not the intersection of Capitol Highway and Barbur Boulevard at Interstate 5, approximately three miles southwest.
