Portland Traffic Advisory - West Hills Bridge Closure
West Hills bridge will close on Wed. for 3-day maintenance job.
August 3, 2010
Sent to Bicycle Paper from Dan Anderson of the Portland Bureau of Transportation
The Portland Bureau of Transportation will close the SW Greenway Avenue bridge over SW Talbot Road from 8 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, through Friday, August 7, for deck maintenance. The bridge will be closed to drivers, but open to pedestrians and bicyclists, during the closure. The public should expect brief delays and use caution in work zones.
Detours will be signed for drivers. Those traveling southbound on SW Greenway toward Council Crest will be directed to SW Summit Drive, SW Talbot Road, SW Talbot Terrace and back to SW Greenway. Those traveling northbound on SW Greenway away from Council Crest will be directed to SW Talbot Terrace, SW Fairmount Boulevard, SW Talbot Road, SW Summit and back to SW Greenway. A detour map is attached.
The bridge maintenance consists of installing an epoxy deck overlay to seal and protect the wearing surface and the deck reinforcing bars. The overlay will also improve traction and skid resistance.
For more information about the project, please contact Bill Clark at 503-823-1701 or Steve Yates at 503-823-7573.
