Kabush and Pendrel Defend their Titles
July 30, 2010
Both Catharine Pendrel (Kamloops, BC) and Geoff Kabush (Courtney, BC) successfully defended their Canadian titles on Saturday, July 17, at the 2010 Mountain Bike Canadian Championships in Canmore, Alberta.
Current world cup leader, Pendrel pulled away from the rest of the field on the first lap of four to win by an impressive five-minute margin. Kabush had a harder time as Max Plaxton (Victoria, BC) and Dereck Zanstra (Ontario) clung on to his wheel. The trio rode away from the rest of the field early and stayed together until Kabush attacked in the fourth of six laps. Plaxton finished second, while Zanstra claimed the bronze.
