Work Adjacent to Burke Gilman Trail Continues
February 22, 2010
Seattle, Wash. - Construction began this past weekend adjacent to the Burke Gilman Trail at the intersection of Seventh Avenue NE and NE 40th Street. The project will improve the pedestrian and bicycle crossing at this location by removing the existing island and installing a new curb configuration and new access to the Burke Gilman Trail.
Seattle Public Utilities completed its drainage work at this site yesterday and a Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crew began follow-up concrete paving work today. SDOT will work from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily this week and next. Weather permitting; the work is scheduled to be completed before Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26.
A temporary ramp is set up next to the construction site and pedestrians and bicyclists are being directed around the work zone.
