SAN DIEGO (February 2, 2009) – JHG, a Southern California-based digital marketing agency, today announced the addition of Electra Bicycle Company, LLC. to its roster of clients. JHG’s digital marketing team has developed a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for Electra Bicycle Company as well as a unique iPhone application, now available in the Apple App store at no cost to the consumer.
“We jumped at the chance to be able to work with such a hip, blazin’ brand that fuses functional innovation with fashion design, and that has an amazing following of devoted riders,” said Jacob Shea, EVP, Interactive & Technology, of JHG. “Developing Electra’s iPhone application has been a great opportunity to leverage our knowledge and experience in digital marketing and mobile technology to help further engage the Electra community and put the brand at their fingertips and in their pockets.”
JHG has spent the past few months with Electra, a leading brand in recreational cycling with distribution in 27 countries worldwide, to develop the robust iPhone application. The app showcases all six Electra bicycle collections, provides downloadable wallpapers of Electra lifestyle imagery, and allows fans to snap & upload their own photos to share with the entire Electra community. The app also allows fans of Electra to send bikes to their friends and family and offers a built-in dealer locator, which connects users to the closest Electra dealer through the iPhone’s GPS technology, or alternatively by searching by city/state or zip code.
“JHG came highly recommended as a digital marketing agency that can successfully execute an integrated campaign that incorporates web and mobile,” said Elayne Fowler, marketing director at Electra Bicycle Company. “The iPhone application and DAM system greatly expands our customer reach, supports our dealer channel, and now makes it easy for our passionate group of bike enthusiasts to engage with the Electra community on the go. I’m thrilled to say that as far as I know, we are the first bicycle company to have an iPhone app.”
JHG’s focus is on creating robust interactive experiences with iPhone Apps. Understanding how to extend a brand’s presence into the mobile and online space is inherent in building a successful project. JHG’s expertise lies in its strategy, planning and integrated approach to brands and experiences, expanding on the opportunity to truly engage users.
