Seattle, Wash. (February 2, 2010) – A 59 year-old female cyclist was taken to the hospital around 8:45 a.m. this morning after colliding with a Seattle Police car. The accident happened at 12th Ave. S and S. Jackson St. in the International District.
Witnesses say the police cruiser was pulling into a parking lot when the cyclist struck the vehicle. The woman, a regular bicycle commuter, was heading west on Jackson when the car pulled in front of her, causing her to hit the car, slide over the hood and land on her head.
Another cyclist stopped and came her aid immediately following the accident. She was wearing a helmet and sources say the woman is "lucid" and appears to be all right.
