Theo Chocolate Creates Bar To Help Deliver World Bicycle Relief Bikes to Africa
March 13, 2012 Seattle-based Theo Chocolate has developed a "mind bendingly" delicious dark chocolate bar to help provide quality bicycles to students living in sub-Saharan Africa. These bikes, often provided to students (especially girls) in rural Africa, help youth get to school safely and efficiently. The alternative - commuting by foot - often takes several hours a day and is dependent on health, physical ability, and weather conditions. Read More

Bicycle Community Mourns Loss of “Fred” Frederick C. Rehberger
March 13, 2012 Seattle, Wash. - The Washington bicycle community lost a friend and fellow WSBA race member, Fred C. Rehberger, on Friday, March 10, 2012. Rehberger was hit by a car on Military Road in Kent on February 29 and taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he never fully regained consciousness. Suffering from extensive internal injuries, he remained on life support for ten days. Fred’s only brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Dana Rehberger, traveled from North Carolina to be with him in his critical state of condition. Read More

Denver B-cycle Returns March 12
March 6, 2012 Denver B-cycle is coming out of hibernation starting next Monday morning at 5 a.m., There will be B-cycles ready to ride in the stations available to check out. They are hoping that all B-cycle members get out and ride a B-cycle on Monday to show the rest of the city that the bikes are back! Every trip you take on Monday will enter you to win one of five B-cycle T-shirts or bicycle helmets they're giving away. Whistler MTB Park Announces New Singletrack Alpine Trail
March 5, 2012 Whistler, BC – The Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be opening its first lift-accessed alpine mountain bike trail to riders this summer. The alpine trail named “Top of the World” will be accessible from the Peak Chair at the summit of Whistler Mountain and will lead riders into the Garbanzo Zone of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The opening of the new trail will increase Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s vertical by 1,091' bringing the total vertical to 4,946'. WSBA Member Fred Rehberger in Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car
March 5, 2012 WSBA racer and member, Fred Rehberger was involved a car/bike accident earlier this week. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Though little is known, it's believed Fred was struck by a car at a high rate of speed shortly after starting his commute to work. The long list of injuries, too long to write all of them down, include both cheek bones broken, broken femur, broken pelvis, broken clavicle, broken ribs, a punctured lung and that's just the beginning.
