Join the BAW, Transportation Choices Coalition, and other like-minded groups as we gather to lobby in Olympia. Briefing meeting, materials and lunch provided. Bills and issues include:
• Adding bike/pedestrian safety education to traffic school curriculum
• Upgrading the use of texting and handheld cell phones while driving to a primary offense
• Passing the Vulnerable Roadway User bill, which will make it easier for prosecutors to hold drivers more accountable in collisions when they kill or seriously injure cyclists and pedestrians.
• Protect Safe Routes to School funding
• Creating a framework for a grant program for Complete Streets projects in Washington's cities to create incentive and reward projects statewide.
