JerseyBin — A Genius of a Little Pouch

By Claire Bonin

They don’t look like much, but appearances can be deceiving. JerseyBin is one of the simplest yet useful products I have found to carry small personal items without fear of losing anything and keeping everything organized while cycling.

I am a minimalist when it comes to my riding — on long or short rides the only stuff I carry is what fits in my pockets and in my small saddlebag. Keys, credit card or money, a gel or two, small sunscreen packet and an ID all fit nicely in the small 3.75” x 7” transparent, waterproof, lightweight pouch. Everything remains safely in place thanks to the strong ziplock-type closure, and it fits perfectly in any back pocket. A cell phone nicely fits in there too, if you carry one, and the vinyl pouch keeps it and everything else you carry dry, no matter how drenched you get from rain or sweat.

I first discovered JerseyBin at last year’s McClinchy Mile — the organizers were donating a customized bin to those who carpooled to the event. I have been using it ever since. They are durable; after a year, mine is still as good as new. When we received some from the founder for review, I already knew how good and practical they were, but I discovered that they came in a larger 4.75” x 7” size and that you have a choice of clear or frosty finish. I suggest carrying two and using the second one to pack used gels and wrappers without getting your pocket all sticky.

JerseyBin retails for $3.75 for a small one and $4.75 for the larger size. Get two of any size for $8.50 or less. For more information visit www.JerseyBin.com.
