In its 37th season, this tabloid-style publication covers cycling in the Pacific Northwest. 13,500 copies are distributed eight times per year—monthly from March to September and again in November—to more than 460 newsstands in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia. BicyclePaper.com receives roughly 15,000 monthly visitors.
Each issue contains opinion columns from Maynard Hershon and Joe “Metal Cowboy” Kurmaskie and a “Health” column by Erik Moen, which addresses prevention and treatment of various conditions related to cycling. Featured articles report on a wide range of topics including (but not limited to) advocacy and legislation, racing, touring and commuting. Interesting events, people, and projects all find their ways into the paper, as do news, product and book reviews. A full road, mountain bike, cyclo-cross, track, BMX and multi-sport events calendar completes the editorial lineup each month.
In addition, Bicycle Paper produces four annual specialty publications. The highly-sought-after Northwest Tour Guide and Northwest Racing Guide have been around for five and six years respectively. Published in mid-February, these guides have become indispensable companions to racing and recreational riders. Building upon this overwhelmingly positive reception, Bicycle Paper will be introducing Rocky Mountain versions of the guides in the spring of 2008.
Beyond the print, Bicycle Paper offers opportunities for flyer, brochure, and poster distribution services through its extensive newsstand network. The website reaches readers outside of our delivery area and provides frequent news and calendar updates to our audience.
Bicycle Paper’s staff and contributors encompass the knowledge of people immersed in cycling culture through racing, riding, commuting, organizing, officiating, volunteering, and writing about the sport.
Darren Dencklau can help you market your product, event or service within the estimated half-million bicycle enthusiasts within Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia.

Use our network of newsstands to increase awareness about your event. Bicycle Paper will distribute your brochures, flyers, and posters to all of our newsstands or to those located in the region(s) you wish to specifically target. Distribution material is sent out at the same time as the regular paper. Packages are either hand-delivered or sent via UPS to our newsstands.
We recommend 25–30 brochures and one to two posters per stand. All materials need to be delivered to the Bicycle Paper’s office by the 20th of the month prior to the distribution (example May 20th for June distribution). Smaller quantities are also accepted.
Special distributions, outside of our regular schedule, are possible. Additional costs do apply. Call for more information.
